From Christmas light shows to live nativity scenes Cincy Rents has compiled the best list of holiday events in the Cincinnati area. Bundle up with your family to ice skate with Santa or to visit a LEGO® holiday display. Gather your friends together for a Pub Crawl on Pedal Wagon’s Polar Express or to see Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s production of Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!) . We are sure you will find a Cincinnati holiday attraction that might even become a tradition for years to come!

Santa Skates at the Fountain Square Ice Rink, every weekend now until December 25th.  Join Santa on the ice with your family and friends at noon for an hour of skating before he heads back to the North Pole.

PNC Festival of Lights Cincinnati Zoo, now until January 1, 2017. The 34th annual PNC Festival of Lights has been voted #1 Zoo Lights in the country by USA Today.  Enjoy over 2.5 million LED lights and array of other holiday fun.  Santa arrives at 4pm daily.

Seasonal Khron Conservatory Show, now until January 8, 2017.  The 2016 Holiday Show, “A Whimsical Wonderland,” will feature royal blue, lively orange, and deep purple poinsettias along with the traditional red and white poinsettias.

Christmas Journey at EnterTRAINment Junction, now until December 31st.   Get the whole family in the holiday spirit by walking through this winter wonderland filled with reindeer and even elves in their workshops.

Pedal Wagon’s Polar Express Pub Crawl, holiday themed pub crawl on the decorated covered Pedal Wagon.  Sport your favorite holiday sweater!

BCM’s 25th Annual Holiday Toy Train Display, now until January 15, 2017.  Train exhibit over 250 feet long along with other special holiday exhibits.

North Pole Express, LM&M Railroad invites you to experience a magical train ride with Santa Clause during the Christmas season.

Macy’s Downtown Dazzle, December 3rd and 10th starting at 6:30pm.  Holiday Fireworks display at the from the Macy’s rooftop at Fountain Square.  Watch Santa rappel down the side of the building to start off this family friendly 20 minute show.

BRICKmas Holiday Display, open now. The large-scale LEGO holiday display is back at the newly renovated Memorial Hall.  Interactive children’s area where children can build their own displays and write letters to Santa.  New this year, your admission also includes admission to a Holiday movie at the Theater at the Memorial Hall.

Cincideutsch Christkindlmarkt, every weekend now until December 24th.  The 5th Annual authentic German Christmas market in downtown Cincinnati. 

Santa’s Workshop, every Saturday now until December 24th.  Visit Washington Park where Santa Claus and his elves will be making gifts, ornaments, and other holiday creations from 1pm to 3pm.

Holiday Entertainment at the Levee, holiday entertainment every Friday and Saturday in December.  The Levee will host a variety of FREE holiday entertainment!  Check their website to view their calendar of events.

An Antique Christmas, now through January 8, 2017.  Display of antique ornaments, toys and cards reviving Christmases of generations past and sharing holiday’s decorations and traditions.  Presented by Taft Museum of Art.

Cincinnati Holiday Lights

Holiday in Lights, now until December 31st.  An outdoor light display at Sharon Woods viewed from your own vehicle.

2016 Holiday Lights on the Hill, now until January 1st.  Holiday Lights on the Hill at Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum is open every night from November 18th through January 1, 2017.  Check their website for four special evening events this year.

Light up the Levee, now through January 2, 2017.  Enjoy the Levee holiday light show synchronized to your favorite holiday songs.  Shows start at 6:10pm and run through 11:50 pm with a new show every 20 minutes.

Christmas Town, December 16-23rd and 26-30th.  Visit Christmas Town at the Celebration Museum featuring the Garden of Lights in the museum’s botanical gardens, a live nativity scene, and more teaching you and your family about this special time of year.  Christmas town is open from 5pm-8pm.

Cincinnati Christmas Shows

Frisch’s Big Boy Presents The Nutcracker, December 9-18th. Performed by Cincinnati Ballet. 

A Christmas Carol, now through December 31st. Performed by the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.

Awaiting, A Christmas Experience, December 2-23rd.  A creative retelling of the Christmas story produced and hosted by Crossroads.

Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!), December 14-31st.  Presented Cincinnati Shakespeare Company includes A Christmas Carol, A Wonderful Life, Rudolph, Frosty, Charlie Brown and more!  This show is recommended for adults and older teens.

Sing Me A Story: How The Grinch Stole Christmas, December 3rd at 5pm.  The Cincinnati Boychoir tells the story of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, complete with more than 150 singers on stage, orchestra, and special guests Bob Herzog and Kathy Wade.

Holiday Pops Featuring Melinda Doolittle, December 2nd-4th, presented by Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.  A joyful blend of holiday favorites, featuring American Idol show-stopper Melinda Doolittle.

Over the Rhine Christmas with the Pops, December 20th at 7:30pm presented by Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.  In this special performance, Over The Rhine will bring their unique voice and folk style to familiar holiday favorites as well as songs of their own.

The Snowman with the Pops, December 23rd presented by the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra.  The Cincinnati Pops perform Howard Blake’s beautiful score of The Snowman as the movie plays in high definition over the stage.

Cincinnati Live Nativity Scenes

Crib of the Nativity, December 9th – January 1, 2017.  Live nativity scene in front of the Khon Conservatory.

The Comboni Nativity Experience, December 13-30th.  Open daily 6-9pm.  Free admission, donations for area food banks gratefully appreciated.

Christmas Saengerfest Choral Concert, December 2-3rd.  Award winning choirs from the World Choir Games.  Tour the churches, Brewery, and newly renovated Memorial Hall.

Christmas in The Village, December 2-3rd in Waynesville, Ohio.  Come for a small town Christmas including 1300 luminaries, horse drawn carriage rides, costume characters, strolling choirs and barbershop quartets, heated entertainment tent and more. 

Holiday Market at Findlay Market, December 3-4th.  Stop by Findlay Market’s annual Holiday Market to find the perfect local gift for everyone on your list. Enjoy craft cocktails and beer, live entertainment and holiday music while you shop!

Brunch with Santa at The Mill Race Banquet Center,  December 4th or December 11th.  Enjoy a buffet with over 25 items and meeting with Santa.  each child will receive one complimentary photo.

Light Up OTR, December 12th at 6pm.  A community-based holiday party held annually in Washington Park.

Cincinnati SantaCon, December 10th 2016.  Dress up as Santa and join a other Cincinnati Santas to visit a downtown establishments and sing carols; noon to midnight starting at Horseshoe Casino.  Eat, Drink, and Be Santa!

Cincinnati Observatory Luminaria Event, Sunday December 11th.  Cruise from Mount Lookout Square to the Observatory for carolers, stargazing, our spacey gift shop, and hot drinks.

The City Flea Holiday Market, December 17th from 5pm-8pm in Washington Park.

Reindog Parade, December 10th at noon.  Adoption of puppies and adult dogs available at The Monastery.

Cincinnati Holiday 5Ks & Runs

GoSantaGo 5K Run/Walk, December 3rd at Blue Ash Summit Park.  Participants receive Santa long-sleeve shirt, hat and beard, or Elf long-sleeve shirt, hat and goody bag. Awards for top three male and female finishers and best individual Santa and best group costumes.

Ohio Valley Hutchinson Jingle Bell 5K Walk/Run, December 3rd at Voice of America MetroPark.  Family friendly holiday-themed 5K walk/run.

Arctic Dash 5K Obstacle Run, December 3rd at Camp Kern.  Tackle mud crawls, water crossings, hill climbs and more.

Tuckaway Tick Tock Trot, December 31st at Turfway Park.  Event will be under the lights.

Reindeer Romp 5K Run/Walk, 10K Run & Kid’s Romp, December 10th at the Crosby Sr. Center.  Benefiting the Crosby Kringle Chest – Providing Christmas Toys for Children in Need
