One of the perks of living in Cincinnati is that it ranks high on many lists for its recreational activities. No matter what part of town you live in, there is plenty going on. In the summer, there are many annual festivals which are well worth your time, here are a few:
Wine and Beer Festival
2016 Dates: June 3rd & 4th
Cost: Free, $5 parking
This festival is located outside of Cincinnati in Morrow, OH. It is hosted by Valley Vineyards and features lots of local beers and wines. For more information, visit Valley Vineyards.
Bunbury Music Festival
2016 Dates: June 3rd – 5th
Cost: Passes are sold out, single day tickets starting at $89
This music festival has kickstarted in the last few years and has had tremendous success. They offer an eclectic blend of music spread over three days. Ludlow Summer Fireworks Festival
2016 Dates: June 3rd &4th
This festival is free and family-friendly. It offers rides, games, gambling, shopping, beer, music, food, and, as the name suggests, fireworks. If you’re interested in the event, you can follow updates on their Facebook page.
2016 Dates: June 9th-12th
This festival is also across the river into Kentucky. This award-winning festival offers authentic Italian food and live Italian music performances by entertainers from around the country. For more information, you can follow their Facebook page.
BalloonFest: Bands, BBQ and Beer
2016 Dates: June 10th-12th
Cost: Free; Hot air balloon rides are $225

Freaky Friday Camp Washington Coney Eating Contest
2016 Dates: June 10th
This is a unique event in the heart of downtown wherein you’re invited towatch competitors see how many cheese coneys they can consume in 3 minutes.
World Music Festival
2016 Dates: June 11th
International music, dance, art and food featuring 50 performances across 7 venues in Covington: Roebling Books and Coffee, Baker Hunt, Inspirado, Pique, BLDG, Braxton Brewing Co. and Leapin’ Lizard. For more information, their official website Worldmusicfest.org
Panegyri Greek Festival
2016 Dates: June 24th-26th
Cost: Adults $2, Children under 12 are free

Rhythm and Brews
2016 Dates: July 17th & 18th

Bacon, Bourbon and Brew Festival
2016 Dates: July 8th – 10th
This festival offers bacon and other bacon products, bourbon and beers from local breweries. Live music, games and activities. For updates, follow their Facebook page.
2016 Dates: August 4th – 7th
Non-Cincinnatians may not be familiar with goetta, but it is a local favorite and this festival exists to celebrate it. For more information visit their official website.
2016 Dates: August 5th & 6th
This is a relatively new, but very popular annual event put on by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. It features and outdoor concert and light show. For more information visit the Lumenocity website.
Ohio River Paddlefest
2016 Dates: August 6th
Cost: $35 with gradual price increases for later registration
This annual tradition co9-mile of a 9 mile paddling trip along the Ohio river. For more details and registration information, visit their website.
Hamilton County Fair
2016 Dates: August 10th – 13th
Cost: $7 per person + $5 per car parking
This county fair features pig racing, Home Depot kids’ interactive program, farm animal petting farm, livestock and poultry displays, blacksmith demonstration, remote control car racing, wood carving display and much more. To learn more, check out their website.
